In 1994 Howard Swan (http://www.swangolfdesigns.com) first visited Eriska to establish the potential for golf at Eriska.
He created a 10 year mission to introduce golf to Eriska and develop a facility which would eventually be an asset to the five star hotel. Initially it was a 9 hbole par 3 course built on the site of the disused Dairy herds fields.
Stage two was to start constructing a 6 hole par 22 course with formal bunkering and professionally constructed greens and tees. Stage three was the creation of a grass driving range and the development of a teaching and practice area and indeed we have run tuition courses under the guidance of Beverly Lewis http://www.pga.info (captain of the PGA in 2006/2007).
The final stage was the construction of an additional three holes taking the course to a par 35 challenge with specatacular views out over the sea and on towards Mull. To date the course is an excellent vacation course ideal for whiling away the afternoon whether a beginner or a scratch golfer. The fact that it is often deserted makes it easy for golfers of all ages and abilities to play alongside each other.
The schedule is that in 2007 phase three will be completed and then the refurbishment of the original holes will begin.
