Michelin Star Restaurant Status
The Isle of Eriska Hotel Restaurant was excited to announce being awarded a Michelin Star in September 2016 for the Thirdd year running.
Over the last few years, the Restaurant at Eriska has been awarded 'Taste our Best' by Visit Scotland and also holds a mark of 5 in the Good Food Guide 2017.
In 2010 the Isle of Eriska Restaurant won the "Taste of Scotland Award" at the Scottish Thistle Awards and in March 2011 they were delighted to be awarded the "Hotel Restaurant of The Year” at the Scottish Restaurant Awards. Our award-winning chef serves an impressively diverse selection of fresh and seasonal produce. As well as our comprehensive wine list we are renowned for our famous Farmhouse Cheese Trolley with an incredible selection of British cheeses which is a favourite with our guests.
Paul Leonard - Head Chef
Paul Leonard joined us in the summer of 2015 having previously held positions at Andrew Fairlies at Gleneagles. Andrew Fairlies is a 50 cover restaurant which currently holds 2 Michelin Stars and thrives on its use of the best Scottish produce and has its own kitchen garden. He also has a range of good quality businesses on his list of achievements, with the Samiling and Feversham Arms. Paul's focus is on bringing a training and development ethos to the kitchen.
Part of Paul's concept is to employ apprentices in his team alongside a strong top level, leaving him time to train and work with the juniors in an endeavour to grow our own chefs of the future.
His focus is on using the produce that the west coast of Scotland has to offer. Salad, herbs and mushrooms from our own gardens, jellies and chutneys made from Eriska's own berries, fish from the local fishermen, meat from the local butcher and game from the surrounding estates.
Please note that due to our geographic location and how we procure our food we need at least 24 hours notice when booking to be able to accommodate non-residents and any dietary requirements. Our dinner menu changes on a daily basis and offers a choice of starters and a choice of main courses, one a fish from the surrounding waters another a meat dish from the hills surrounding the island and a final vegetarian alternative inspired by one of the gardens or larders close at hand.Our kitchen team pride themselves in their use of the freshest, local produce in a way which develops and enhances the flavours and taste of the food. Local suppliers have been sourced and by working closely with them over a great deal of time we have forged relationships which ensure the best Scottish Menus can be expected.
