Whilst it certainly feels like the start of winter as I look outside- the leaves are all down- the view form my office has returned- the days are shorter as we arrive at work in the dark and leave in the evening in the dark but the weather certainly seems to have missed the memo as we have had three glorious days with blue skies, sunshine and even a peak in the temperature above ten degrees-
However these clear days have also led to cool nights and a plummet in temeprature near to frosty conditions and today the grass stayed covered in dew all day. In reality as the televsion screens become full of Christmas sales and the ground is staurated fomr the heavy rain a fortnight ago- still but holidaying in Scotland is always a gamble and this weekend has certainly paid off for all our visitors as they cycled, ran, walked and wandered round the island. so what is ahead for this week.
Today: The high sitting over Russia is insuring that the glorios sunshine of Saturday continued into today although it will be a clear cold night!
Monday: Another mainly dry day although clouds will push in later and keep temperatures up overnight
Tuesday: A rather cloudy day with patchy light rain and a breeze developing
Wednesday: Patchy heavy rain at first but becoming mostly dry with sunny spells.
Thursday: Mostly dry with sunny spells but patchy rain later.
Friday: Sunny intervals and a few showers encouraged by a stiffening wind from the west
Saturday: Generally cloudy start perhaps with some outbreaks of rain when it becomes breezy.
