As I sit here in my office this morning looking out on the mountains of Kingairloch it is apparent that winter is not far away as the snow line on the hillsides seems to creep ever closer to the sea. It is however still very mild here on Eriska as we seem to fit into our own little micro climate, indeed as I was talking to one of our locla members who had come in for a swim, she highlighted that she was running late due to having had to spend a time this morning scraping ice from her windscreen whilst here we still have dew on the grass and the overnight temperature did not drop anywhere close to freezing overnight- but that does not stop us form keeping the fires roaring- just in case!
Anyway whats ahead for this week?
Today- A bright start predicts a mainly dry and bright day ahead although there will be rain tonight.
Monday: A few showers over higher ground at first but these mainly dying out leaving a fine dry day with some bright or sunny spells - a generally good day for coralling our cattle and getting them ready for market.
Tuesday:Continuing to cloud over as we go through the day with outbreaks of rain spreading in from the south and a strengthening southerly wind pushing in.
Wednesday: A cloudy start with outbreaks of rain but this gradually clearing east to leave a bright afternoon but with a scattering of showers
Thursday: Cloudy with outbreaks of rain although it will be abalance between mild with cloud and cool when clear!
Friday: Cloudy and windy with some patchy rain but generally breezy with a few showers later in the day.
Saturday:Mostly unsettled for the rest of the weekend with showers and occasional longer spells of rain affecting higher ground perhaps the best chance of some drier interludes for tomorrow.
