It might be the start of winter but the colours abnd scenery outside is spectacular and probably there is some truth in the fact that the later the elaves fall form the trees the better the show. Eevn the hillsides that are barren of trees seem to come to life at this time of year and yet we are only 6 weeks till Christmas.

So whats ahead for the start of winter in terms of forecast?

Today: after a clear night it will start frosty with a certain chill on higher ground although it will becore bright and sunny and promises to be the best day of the week.

Monday:Showers becoming confined to coastal areas then dying , with clear spells leading to a dry day although there remains a rain risk!

Tuesday: Thick overnight cloud will make it seem milder but cloudy with occasional rainpushing in later in  the day at some times heavy.

Wednesday:  A cool night will begin giving way to sunny intervals and blustery showers with strong westerly winds.

Thursday: Patchy rain clearing then it will be brighter with scattered showers before more rain returns overnight

Friday: a damp and driech day!

Saturday: Unsettled conditions are expected to dominate with showers or longer spells of rain pushing in and bringing gale force winds
