As we continue into summer and the schools all stop for a break it would only seem fair that they get some summer weather- seeing as that is what we all remember form our childhood- endless sunshine and dry conditions. But of course maybe that is simply our memory playing tricks and it was as cold and rainy then as it is now. On the positive side the wind has kept the midges at may and the rain has kept the grass green although the ground is generally pretty dry on Eriska nd several of "Sir Ians" no go areas are no definitely passable and welly boots are only needed to keep the dewy grass from your ankles.

So what is going to happen over the next week-

Today: After a wet night it should become showery and start to dry up later in the day

Monday: Rain or showers, brightening later but a stiff breeze will make it changeable.

Tuesday: Starting

Wednesday: Rain in clearing north then all areas dry for much of the day

Thursday: Dry start then rain spreading from the south. The rain mainly light and it should become drier and a little brighter later.

Friday: Mainly dry and bright though some rain reaching the southwest later. This turning heavier and more widespread overnight .

Saturday: Unsettled and changeable weather is likely to continue, particularly over the weekend however there are signs of a gradual shift back to the drier conditions of last week
