End of Olympics but summer of sport continues
There is no doubt that the London Games has produced some amazing results- probably not least the fact that the whole of Britain seems to have been behind it and therefore the talk of inspiring a generation seems to be slightly more possible than it was before. Anyway at Eriska it has seen an increase in the number of bookings for the sports hall and certainly the Badminton and tennis interest has grown. One clever member of staff has suggested a beach Volley Ball court but steven our Head Green Keeper was not so keen on the need to remove bunker sand and relocate it in front of the kitchen window!
Anyway having withdrawn this suggestion our thoughts have turned to the Alan Walker Golf weekend on the 8/9th September. Plans are in place for a weekend to celebrate golf with a combination of teaching practice and play. Steven and his team are hard at work getting the course in pristine condition for the event and providing the whitehorse god play ball and give us a balanced amount of rain and sunshine we should be in the best shape ever for the weekend. Even the driving range is starting to show great progress although it may be some time before we can run the ball collector across the range so for now it is a combination of buckets, nets and dogs to retrieve balls and restock the machine.
