19/08/2012 10:08 As the schools in Scotland begin to think about getting back to work it is probably not surprising that the news is full of the fact that the south of the country is enjoying the hottest weather of the year so far. I certainly recall from my childhood the correlation between summer arriving and school reopening but maybe that's my memory painting a prettier picture than normal and certainly this year for once we cannot complain about the lack of summer in argyll but will it hold until the big Argyllshire Gathering Games on Thursday?
Today: Mist clearing then some bright or sunny intervals for a time. Cloud will thicken later with some patchy rain developing across higher ground into the evening
Monday: Any rain or showers quickly dying out, the west coast having some midday sunshine. Clear intervals and patchy mist and low cloud then showers pushing in towards evening.
Tuesday: After a dry start heavy showers will dominate the afternoon at times torrential but sunshine will intersperse
Wednesday:After a dull and damp start the wind should blow the cloud away and it should brighten up towards tea time
Thursday:Regrettably the opposite to Wednesday but a dry start and then rain pushing in so not great news for the games at the park but hopefully the "march of the chieftains" will be dry
Friday:A warmer day but with less wind the clouds will dominate the skies and it may get wet!
Saturday:The easterly winds will return but with them the changeable weather will advocate and although there may be heavy showers there will also be some sunny spells
