As the Paralympics draws to a close its not only the television news casters that seem to think Summer is over as the weather gods seem to be on the same page too. The nights are drawing in, the sun seems to have lost its heat and vegetables and fruit that has not ripened yet is clearly going to struggle. however we cannot really complain as it has been a good run and certainly has reenthused our belief in the scottish summer as we have had pretty consistent conditions favoring our impression of summer- having lost all hope in 2011!
So whats really going to happen this week?

After a dull morning it should remain mainly dry and bright during the morning, although cloud thickening across the west coast and over the isles with patchy rain. Rain becoming more persistent through the afternoon and pushing eastwards with perhaps some heavier bursts as southwesterly winds freshen.

Monday:After a cloudy night with further outbreaks of rain these may seem heavier at times and it should then clear in the afternoon

Tuesday: Rather prolonged rain by Tuesday morning and quite murky with winds falling light and a dull damp evening

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy with further rain, prolonged and heavy at times into afternoon, but more especially on higher ground.

Thursday: after a wet start it should become mostly dry in west in afternoon with winds freshening

Friday:Cooler and brighter , with scattered showers on strengthening westerly winds.

Saturday:Windy with showers or longer spells of rain. Drier, brighter later in the afternoon proving promise for the week ahead!
