Eriska Whisky Tasting - World Whisky Day - 30 March 2013
Now to add to the James Bond Martini Masterclass, we are about to launch a new tutored whisky tasting to nose your way through the range of exclusive bottles of Eriska malt.
From the ten year old malt of Islay to the 10 year old Speyside, we will highlight the characteristics of each bottle and the complete trilogy with the Sherry Wood Cask of 14 year old Speyside.
Come and celebrate World Whisky Day with us as we invite you to join our Eriska Whisky Tasting on 18th May 2013.
The event will commence at 7pm here at the Isle of Eriska Hotel, Spa & Golf and is open to residents of the Hotel and any residents dining with us that evening. The cost for our Whisky Tasting Session is £20 per person.

Eriska wins Gold at the Scottish Restaurant Team Challenge - 30 March 2013
We are delighted to announce that on Monday 25th March 2013, our head chef, Simon McKenzie & his team here at the Isle of Eriska, Spa & Golf won gold at the 1st ever Scottish Restaurant Team Challenge!
The competition took place earlier this month during ScotHot at the SECC whereby each team had only 1.5 hours to prepare and serve a 3 course meal for 4 guests from a mystery basket of ingredients. The 4 guests included two randomly selected members of the audience alongside 2 of the judging panel.
Simon & his team, including Emma, Matt & Jakub, put their heads together and created this winning dish - Hake, broccolis puree, coriander mussel salad and gnocchi.

“My team and I are delighted to have won this prestigious award! From time to time it is fun to do something different from the day-to-day tasks we have at the hotel and benchmark our skills against other industry professionals out there.

The real fun "tees" off on Saturday morning with our short game skills class lead by our resident PGA Professional for the weekend - Alan Walker. Enjoy lunch in our club house before our we embark upon a 3 hole tuition round in the afternoon, enabling our Professional to highlight the course layout along with his top tips as to how best to tackle the course.
Sunday 9th September
Sunday will kick off with our long game skills class on our Driving Range before an early lunch and then back on the course for a friendly 9 or 18 hole tournament around the course. Look forward to our prize giving in the early evening.

Everyone at Eriska is delighted to have been elected to join Relais & Chateaux. Eriska is one of only 3 new members in the UK to join the pretigiuos group.
Established over half a century ago, Relais & Châteaux is an association of the world’s finest hoteliers, chefs and restaurateurs that has set the standard for excellence in hospitality. Arnotts House Weekend Breaks Rate - 23 October 2011
Since we opened Arnotts House back in June it has been busy and has certainly added another dimension to Eriska. We are therefore now delighted to be able to offer Arnotts house for shorter packages from throughout November and December. rates start from £200 per night.
Arnotts house is a three bedroom house- built in 1850 for the redoubtable butler of the main house. It was extensively refurbished in the summer and now boats a wonderful new conservatory and deck with its own hot tub and stunning view to Ben Cruachan.
Guests staying at Arnotts House have access to all the hotels leisure facilities including the pool, golf course and indoor sports hall.

After a few weeks of waiting we are delighted to be able to announce that Arnotts House- our new self catering 3 bedroom property on the top of the island, has achieved a 5 star rating from Visit Scotland. The house named after the redoubtable butler Arnott, was converted in the spring to form the first of our new Self Catering units. It has 3 large bedrooms with ensuite bath and shower rooms, a modern kitchen and livingroom and a wonderful new conservatory facing south east and catching all of the days sunshine with wonderful views over Loch Creran to Ben Cruachan. In addition it also has a large paved garden with a jacuzzi hot tub and guests have access to all the hotels leisure facilities.

Taste of Scotland Award while the
Williamson Foodservice Highland and Island Food and Drink Awards, which took place in Inverness, saw us take home the

Tennis Court Refurbishment - 16 September 2010
Having announced earlier this summer of our plans to build a mulit-purpose sports hall on Eriska, we have been able to push ahead with these plans.
Currrently our Tennis Court is undergoing refurbishment therefore is out of action for the present moment, however by Christmas we will have in its place, an all new Multi-purpose Sports Hall suitable for all weather and light-dependent conditions. We are currently in the middle of West Highland Yachting Week taking place close to Eriska, which makes Eriska the ideal place to retire for an evening meal in the comfort of our fine dining restaurant in the main house. Our newly refurbished Pier and Yacht Moorings allow you to moor your yacht off of our Pier before indulging in the facilities we have on offer.
Join us for dinner in the main house at the rate of £42 per person for a 4 course meal including coffee. We provide complimentary shower facilties prior to dinner, however dinner reservations are essential.
During the day, why not call our Stables Spa and book yourself in for a relaxing treatment or enjoy a round of golf before dinner.

The Isle of Eriska Hotel was delighted to be named the Independent Hotel of the Year 2010 at the
CIS Excellence Awards 2010 at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow.
Eriska named in Final of CIS Awards as Hotel of the Year - 01 May 2010
This morning we received the wonderful official news that Eriska has been shortlisted as one of the finalists in the Catering in Scotland Excellence awards as the Hotel of the Year. we were both thrilled and excited to have been rewarded in this way and especially when we looked down the respected list of judges who chose us from a wonderful wide range of entrants. Simply reaching this stage is true recognition of all the hard work those around me continually put in in their endeavours to look after our guests and visitors.
Whilst achieving success with guidebooks and journalists it is the achievement of being recognised amongst ones peers which means most to everyone in the team and they are all rightly proud. After insuring we survive by looking after our guests being singled out by others in the industry takes a close second place and I know as soon as I had told the team here the jungle drums were beating letting all their friends know of the success. At the end of the day you can operate the best located greatest building with all the trappings of success but without the heartbeat of the team within it you will never survive and this award recognises their input
Last year we were very privileged to have reached this stage also but were pipped to the post on the final day. We will now have to keep our fingers crossed and hope that we can go one better on 27th May when the winner will be announced.

Eriska listed in Top 10 private island escapes - 17 April 2009
This week I had my attention drawn to the article about the world's best 'exclusive island paradises' in the current Middle East edition of Harpers Bazaar. I was especially interested to know that the other nine contenders included Necker Island in the BVI, Royal Plantation in the Bahamas, Ile des deux Cocos on Mauritius and Medjumbe in Mozambique. Eriska was the only UK suggestion.
Refurbishment Complete - 04 March 2009

Working with Ward Robinson we have combined the elegance and luxury of the house with strong colours and fabrics which emphasize the period and history of the building.

We are delighted to announce the opening of our new restaurant after a dramatic refurbishment. Again in conjunction with Ward Robinson we are delighted to present a new look to the dining experience at Eriska. The soft colours and sumptuos fabrics bring Eriska back in time to the colours it hosted at the turn of the last centuary however the combination with modern lighting has allowed it to offer both exceedingly good levels of comfort and a wonderful window for Roberts Cuisine.
Eriska wins Catey for Independent Hotel of the Year 2008 - 10 August 2008
Eriska was voted as the Independent Hotel of the Year by the Caterer and Hotelkeeper magazine. This award means a great deal as it is voted for by the industry for the industry and rewards o[perations that epitomise all that they stand for. it is especially rewarding as it is only the second time it has been awarded to a Scottish property.

In the latest issue of the Scottish Field Magazine they have listed 50 must do suggestions for 2008 and Eriska has been chosen as the hotel in scotland to visit. We are naturally delighted with the accolade and it confirms our place in the hearts of those who read the magazine.
Eriska Chef is Shortlisted - 03 September 2007
Scott Davies has been selected from many leading restaurants in the UK to win a place in one of four heats in this year’s Young Chef Young Waiter competition run by The Restaurant Association.
A Young Chef, Scott works in Isle of Eriska Hotel in Ledaig and will now compete in the heat of this prestigious competition, which takes place at Fife Academy.
If Scott is successful at the heat, he will compete with seven other finalists in the Young Chef category in London on 15th October, with the assurance that, if chosen as the winner, he will not only win £2,000, plus an unforgettable study trip to Berlin, but will also gain the status and credibility to succeed within the restaurant industry, as have many of the previous winners.
Young Chef Young Waiter is the longest established competition in the industry and is organized by The Restaurant Association in recognition of the talent found in restaurants and kitchens nationwide, with one prize awarded to the best Chef and one to the best Waiter. The competition is run in partnership with American Express, the Savoy Educational Trust, Louis Roederer Champagne, HSBC , the
CMA, EBLEX, Sodexho and Restaurant Magazine.
Seen amongst the trade as the industry’s premier award, Young Chef Young Waiter is aimed at under 24’s who are passionate about food and its service and, whether winners or not, entrants will enjoy the experience that the award offers in competitive cooking with their peers.
