Wonders of everchanging Seasons

One of the advantages of living here is that not only do we have very distinctive seasons- sometimes we joke that they can happen in any one day!- but that each season has its own benefits and clearly some detractions but now is not the time to talk about these.
.

Several years ago an artist was staying with us and she was getting quite emotive about the light. As a simpleton- light was light and I , whilst agreeing to placate her, really did not understand what she was going on about. However over the years I have come not only to understand what she was talking about but now also coming to appreciate how our light and darkness is unique to this area of the world. Whilst I am certain that there are many other areas of the world who would be equally passionate about their attributes for now I count myself as being incredibly lucky to live here.
The clarity of the sunsets and sunrises is sometimes amazing and as we have had over the last two days - clear skies and cold nights- the horizon tends to be exact and the fireball of a sunrise or sunset can be very dramatic and the colours incredibly vibrant. Then the unpredictability insures that we keep coming back and being surprised and more importantly it leaves every day being different and that is probably why we live here!

One of the wonders is the unpredictability, we dress for the sunshine and it rains, we prepare for the cold and it is mild but that is Scotland and in many ways thats what makes it so special. Have a safe journey and we are all looking forqrad to seeing you and the Christmas Festivities
